Nashville Christian School Shooting Leaves At Least 3 Children & 3 Adults Dead

 

Three adults and three children were gunned lanugo pursuit a mass shooting at a private Christian school in Nashville on Monday (Mar. 27). The sexuality suspecta heavily armed 28-year-old woman was killed in an wrangling with police.

Don Aaron a spokesperson for the Metro Nashville Police Department said the sexuality suspect was believed to have entered a side archway with two thumping rifles and a handgun.

Aaron said,

“The police department response was swift. Officers entered the first story of the school and uncork transplanting it. They heard shots coming from the second level; they immediately went to the gunfire.”

The suspect was fatally shot by a five-member police team in a second-floor lobby, equal to reports. Police said they first got calls well-nigh the shooter at 10:13 a.m. CT and Nashville firefighters first reported their personnel was responding to an active aggressor at 10:39 a.m. CT. The names and month of the victims have not been released at this time.

According to reports, students of the school were bused to Woodmont Baptist Church, two miles yonder from the shooting incident, to be reunited with their parents.

The fire department helped usher the children out of the school, thoughtfully trying to help them from seeing the carnage.

Fire department spokesperson Kendra Loney said,

We were on scene to help them mitigate anyone from seeing exactly what else as going on. But we’re sure they heard the unconnectedness surrounding this.”

In a statement, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said:

“I am closely monitoring the tragic situation at Covenant. As we protract to respond, please join us in praying for the school, congregation & Nashville community.”

The Covenant School was founded in 2001 as a ministry of Covenant Presbyterian Church and has students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Enrollment fluctuates between 195 and 210, with 33 teaching sense members. On a typical day, it has 209 students and 40 to 50 staff members, Aaron (a spokesperson for the Metro Nashville Police Department) said.
